Hawker Chan

A Michelin-star chicken dinner for less than a tenner is the latest queue-worthy addition to Melbourne’s dining scene. Singapore’s Hawker Chan has opened its first overseas outpost in Lonsdale Street, offering its famous chopped-to-order crispy-skin soya chicken and rice for just $6.80.

Huxtaburger Footscray

Huxtaburger has moved into Melbourne’s 3011 postcode. After conquering the CBD, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Prahran and Eastland, the cult-burger brand is ready to take on its next target, with the doors opening to the Footscray restaurant on 2 December. The fit-out, designed by Studio-Y, has taken inspiration from its edgy inner-west surroundings, with a nod to the area’s skate culture.

He tried to keep it a secret, but now it’s all above board – much like its name suggests.
