GABS Festival Sydney
Sydney Showground, Showground Road, Sydney Olympic Park NSW
2nd June 2018
The Great Australian Beer Spectacular (GABS) is just that – spectacular. With all the best names in the business, as well as emerging trendsetters and ciders for days, this is one festival you’ll want to get into. Like a beer-lover’s Christmas, this one-day extravaganza has its sights set on Sydney in early June.
Sip, sample and savour your way through a huge selection of beers and ciders from Australia and beyond. Aside from the big names like Batch Brewing Co., 4 Pines, Little Creatures and James Squire, there will also be over 170 varieties of beer and ciders crafted especially for the event.
This is how it works. Take a wooden paddle and shop around for 5 taste testers to get you in the groove. Whether you’re a beer connoisseur wanting to compare and contrast or just need something more than your two hands to carry all your booze in, it’s a good place to start. Once you’ve picked your poison, head back to the bar and tuck into a pint of your favourite. Short of meandering between stalls, there’s also a huge amount of action in store from an indoor Ferris wheel to a food and beer pairing experience, masterclasses by some of the best in the business, a silent disco and 19 holes of beer-fuelled mini golf fresh from Holey Moley.
If beer isn’t your style, don’t let that stop you from heading into one of Australia’s biggest beer festivals. There’s a handful of other booze to keep you entertained – just scoot on over to the Milawa Cheese and Prosecco Bar where you’ll find a handful of Brown Brothers wines.
With so much drinking to be done, having something to sink your teeth into is equally as important. The perfect beer food will be out to play from the good people at Chur Burger, That Arancini Guy, Prawn Stars, Bibim Bowl and Jono’s Jerky among others.
Snap up tickets for you and the gang before they sell out – you’ll find them and all the info you’ll need here.
