Tucked into the picturesque Relbia wine region of northern Tasmania you’ll find Relbia Lodge, the ideal place to sit back, relax and truly appreciate what this beautiful part of the world has to offer.

For years wineries like Josef Chromy and Sharmans have drawn visitors to the Relbia wine region. However, a lack of accommodation choices meant visitors were unable to truly appreciate the beauty of the area, passing through to stay elsewhere. Noticing this absence in the market, husband-and wife team Philip and Angela Bowden decided to create accommodation for those wining and dining nearby. In 2013 they built Relbia Lodge on their property, creating the perfect place for guests to stay.

Relbia Lodge is a luxurious boutique getaway that showcases the beauty of this region and allows guests to truly enjoy their surroundings. The property can accommodate a maximum of eight people, with the choice to book two separate self-contained apartments with one or two bedrooms, or the entire four-bedroom house.

In order to take full advantage of their location, Philip and Angela positioned the property by the water, with north facing windows allowing natural light to flood every room, even in the midst of winter. All apartments have their own verandah that overlooks the dam, making for a tranquil place to watch the sunset over the rolling hills.

Clean and simple design is consistent throughout the building, with a neutral exterior and modest furnishings inside. The interiors have been eloquently designed to pay homage to the region, with furniture made from Tasmanian timber and artworks from talented Tasmanian artists.

Philip and Angela have created a living space that feels like home, with facilities tailored to replicate those found in your own house. Each apartment is designed with a modern aesthetic, equipped with a kitchen, lounge area, air conditioning, heating, wifi and full laundry facilities. The ensuites are filled with natural light and boast an indulgent, stand-alone bathtub.

If you’re not unwinding on the verandah, then you may be out visiting the local vineyards. Located on the Tamar Valley Wine Route, Relbia has an abundance of wineries to explore. Walk next door to Josef Chromy or take a short drive to Jinglers Creek, Sharmans, Bundaleera or Glen Shian, where you can experience the exceptional quality of food and wine that Tasmania has to offer.

Due to its proximity to Josef Chromy, Relbia Lodge has formed a strong partnership with the winery, taking your culinary getaway to the next level. The winery’s kitchen team provides seasonal gourmet hampers for breakfast, and meat and cheese platters for a snack between meals. If you’re visiting the winery for a wedding, Relbia Lodge can also accommodate you and your guests.

What better way to greet the day than waking up in the heart of the wine region? Relbia Lodge is the perfect place to slow down, switch off and enjoy the beautiful scenery and nearby wineries.
