It’s been a big year for Merivale. Not ones to sit still, the hospitality group is back once again with yet another whack at a successful Sydney venture, this time taking over a much loved inner-west icon, Vic on the Park.

2017 witnessed Merivale’s takeover of The Collaroy (set to open this Summer), a pop-up diner at the Tennyson Hotel (Mr. Liquor’s Dirty Italian Disco), and its first year of operation for the Queens Hotel which they took over late last year. Now they’re adding one more to the list, setting their sights on Vic on the Park, set to open in mid-November.

While there are no plans for renovations at this stage, there’s no doubt that Merivale’s golden touch is about to make its mark on this bustling corner pub.

“The Vic has long been at the heart of Marrickville,” said Merivale CEO, Justin Hemmes. “It’s a vibrant community hub where people of all ages and walks of life can come together. We have loved being part of the Inner West since opening Queens last year and can’t wait to take on what is undoubtedly an important and cherished venue in the area.”

If the success of any of Merivale’s 40-plus venues is anything to go by, our bets are on Vic on the Park holding the title of a Marrickville icon for years to come.
