Coming Soon: Stanton and Co.
3/61-71 Mentmore Avenue, Rosebery, NSW
If you love the likes of Riley Street Garage, or if you frequent Surly’s and call The Village Inn your local, there’s one more venue you’ll need to add to your list – Stanton and Co. This new venture by the successful Parlour Group is set to open in Rosebery this October.
The new inner south restaurant will be dishing up fine-dining, Australian cuisine with a touch of Japanese flavour. Owner of Parlour Group, Brody Peterson, said of Stanton and Co., “We want to create a beautiful venue that is fun, relaxing and vibrant, a place where guests feel like they are eating at a bar rather than drinking at a restaurant.”
With its industrial style design taking cues from New York’s Meatpacking district, designed by Alexander&Co., the space itself will no doubt be as exquisite as the food you’ll be eating.
Executive Chef, Regan Porteous, will be at the helm of Stanton and Co.’s kitchen, working closely with Head Chef, Marcelino Papio. Both joined the Riley Street Garage kitchen in 2013, and are now passing on their expertise to the venue’s younger sibling. The pair have crafted two menus – an a la carte menu featuring fast, fresh and simple dishes perfect for weekday lunches, and the more extensive shared dinner menu with modern Australian flavours and Japanese touches at its core.
To quench your thirst, cocktails will be the star of the show. A carefully curated wine list and selection of premium craft beers are also in the works, producing a well-rounded collection that ensures no diners will be going thirsty.
The Stanton & Co. name is a nod to property developer, Richard Stanton, who is credited with transforming the Rosebery locale into an industrial suburb between 1911 and 1920. Industrial in every sense, the site went on to be the home of Cyclone Fence and Gate Co. throughout the 1930s before gradually emerging as a part commercial, part residential inner southern Sydney suburb. Nowadays, Rosebery is making its mark as a culinary centre in Sydney’s already heaving food industry, and with one more to add to the list this October, it will be well worth a visit.
Stay tuned for further information regarding Stanton and Co.’s grand unveiling. Judging on the success of the Parlour Group’s track record, we’re predicting a momentous reception to Rosebery’s newcomer.
