Wander along the path leading to HotHut Yoga for the start of a unique wellness experience. All your senses will be stimulated as you amble deeper into the stunning countryside, where you’ll be greeted with a purpose-built yoga and meditation space that showcases views over an orchid, olive grove and vineyard through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The connection to nature is obvious from the moment you step onto the farm that HotHut calls home. Owner Emma Phillips had a vision to create an all-encompassing experience, ensuring guests participated in more than just a beautiful yoga class, but walked away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. With a range of different yoga styles on offer, there’s something for everyone.

Emma has achieved her vision through an impeccable attention to detail. The pathway down to the hut allows you to embrace your natural surroundings, letting you soak up the sights and sounds of the environment. Once you arrive, you’ll notice the hut is heated to between 27C and 30C using the latest technology in far infrared heating, and there’s a fire roaring.

The mood is set to create a sense of calm to effortlessly lull you into a deeper state of relaxation. Manduka mats and props are set up for each yogi, waiting for you to lie down and relax. The scents of aromatherapy oils and the sounds of chilled tunes complete the atmosphere, creating the perfect space in which you can develop your yoga practice.

Each class is small and intimate, with a maximum of 10 participants per session. The floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the spaciousness and provide the perfect backdrop for your practice, as the beautiful scenery is visible from every mat in the studio.

Each of the seven talented instructors bring their unique yoga expertise, so each class differs slightly. For example Sonja, one of the principal instructors, has been a devoted yoga instructor for more than 18 years. Her education has included training with Himalaya Yoga Valley in Ireland and living in a meditation community in the hills of Northern Italy. Sonja’s classes are said to be sweet, strong and dreamy, with a hint of playfulness. Regardless of your instructor, each class at the studio starts and finishes with a guided meditation, aided by a supplied lavender eye pillow. As you arise from your deeply relaxed state at the end of the class, the friendly instructors will prepare a warm herbal tea so you leave completely refreshed and zen.

With an experience as dreamy as this, leaving may be easier said than done. However, Emma and the team of yoga teachers make the return to reality a little lighter with the presence of a harvest basket, filled with an abundance of estate-grown produce. Help yourself on your way out: it’s just another element of the HotHut experience that you can take home and enjoy.
