Planning a trip out of town and need a few pit stops along the way? Red Hill General store is located in the heart of Mornington Peninsula and is the perfect spot for your morning espresso hit, to pick up the local paper or to gather provisions for a late Sunday brunch.
Built in 1926 Red Hill General Store was originally a single fronted store, it wasn’t until later a chaff and grain store was added. Today, the store is in the original building and still retains its quaint, authentic country store feel. Nestle into the charming seating area, or let the kids run wild in the play area.
Owner, Julie Redhouse, has owned the business for four years and is committed to using high quality produce from local sources. All their fresh fruit and vegetables are sourced from the Rosebud fresh fruit market, and they always use seasonal fruit for their cakes and muffins.
The whole family will love Red Hill General Store, but a lot of the customers are locals and tradies stopping by for their morning fix. All their food is home cooked and tastes even better than what your grandma would make. Think carrot cake fresh out of the oven, or a delicious pear and raspberry loaf. Trays of muffins are sold everyday, with customers travelling from all over town to get a slice of Red Hill. Got the midday munchies? Red Hill offers a delicious range of gourmet pies from Boscastle Pastries and Foods, or you can wrap your hands around one of their freshly made rolls or focaccias.
Whether you live in the area or you’re simply stopping by, it’ll be worth the trip to Red Hill General Store.
