A vintner is a winemaker suited to the region, so it is no surprise Vintners is one of South Australia’s landmark food and wine experiences and one of the Barossa Valley’s longest operating restaurants having been in business for 19 years.
Business owners Robert Hill-Smith, Peter Clarke, and Rami Heer, all have an extensive knowledge of the world of wine. Peter studied at the London City and Guilds and has a wealth of experience having worked in high end establishments both in Australia and overseas.
Nestled amongst the vineyards, guests at Vintners Bar & Grill are treated to an elegant dining experience. The dining room has a large open fireplace, tables set with crisp white linen tablecloths, contemporary artworks adorning the walls and spectacular vineyard views. When the temperature and weather allow, guests can relax outdoors and enjoy scenic, peaceful, alfresco dining overlooking the vineyards.
Vintners is dedicated to high-quality food with modern twists on both new and traditional ingredients from across South Australia. The team is treated to a first hand look at the seasonal local produce due to its location adjacent to the Barossa Farmers Market. Every Saturday more than 50 stallholders provide a cornucopia of the freshest local produce, some being picked the night before or on the morning of the market.
Produce is also sourced from local butchers, cheesemakers, vegetable growers and marron farmers. Head Chef, Peter, has a passion for fresh local produce and uses his extensive experience in the kitchen to marry flavours and technique to produce distinctive, unfussed, brilliantly balanced dishes.
The extensive wine list features the best of the Barossa, Australia’s finest and lots of Old World gems reflecting the profound wine knowledge and experience of Robert, Peter and Rami. An ever-changing selection of new, interesting and old-favourite wines is also offered by the glass. Rami’s detailed knowledge of local and imported wines ensures guests at Vintners savour the Barossa in the glass as well as on the plate.

Also catering for functions and groups, Vintners can seat up to 100 people and cater for up to 120 people for cocktail functions. Menus are individually designed to suit the function and reflect the availability of seasonal produce. The team at Vintners is expert at ensuring events are as flavourful, enjoyable and seamless as possible.
