Nestled within a working winery in the centre of Mudgee’s wine region you’ll find Rosby Guesthouse – boutique accommodation offering luxury rooms, breathtaking views and close proximity to one of the best wineries in the area.
The Rosby property includes a fully operational winery, guesthouse and arts centre. It was started by passionate and creative couple, Kay and Gerald Norton- Knight, with the first cabernet buds bursting on their property back in 1996.
Since then the couple has gone from strength to strength, building the Rosby mud brick hut overlooking the vineyard and renovating a beautiful guesthouse for those who wish to stay at Rosby that little bit longer.
The guesthouse is a luxurious homestead retreat, offering panoramic views of the picturesque Mudgee region. It is the perfect place to escape the rush of everyday life, whether it is just for the weekend or for several days. The four king-sized rooms cater for up to eight people at a time, each of which has its own private ensuite and verandah, allowing guests to wake up every morning immersed in the countryside.
The guesthouse also includes a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room over which breathtaking cathedral hardwood ceilings feature. Guests can enjoy the Mudgee winter by the roaring open fire with a complimentary bottle of Rosby wine, or soak up the summer sunshine in the alfresco dining area – the guesthouse expertly caters to every season.
Rosby also offers a romantic one-bedroom studio apartment for more intimate occasions. Nestled into the homestead garden, the studio offers a luxurious and private retreat for those who wish to share the views of the guesthouse, while keeping to their own space. Rosby Studio features a spectacular stone-lined bathroom and amazing artwork throughout, some of which is painted by talented artist Kay.
Both of the accommodation packages on offer at Rosby include a daily breakfast hamper provided by the friendly hosts. Made up of the best local produce from around the region, these delicious hampers are the perfect way to start your day
The guesthouses also come with complimentary access to a vegetable garden, where fresh veggies can be picked at guests’ leisure, and a chook yard, which provides complimentary eggs to all who stay.
After a hearty breakfast of local produce, perhaps even grown on-site, explore some of the 400-acre property. Walking tracks traverse the entire place and a walking trail map can be provided upon request. If you’re touring the property, you simply cannot walk past the Rosby Wines Cellar Door without popping in for a drink and a chat. The winery also holds regular vintage lunches for guests and visitors.
Rosby Guesthouse is the definition of a country escape. Housed in an historic homestead and offering sweeping views of the beautiful surrounding region, the guesthouse is the perfect place for couples, groups and families to stay for a little, or a long time.
