While Kate Jones still offers catering for local functions and events, the focus also includes her restaurant and cafe. The philosophy behind these spaces is the same as the catering company – to create high quality, delicious food made with love.
The entire team has a passion for making great food and for putting smiles on the faces of satisfied customers. Like the food, the coffee at Kate Jones is reliable and delicious, as the team understands that a great cup depends as much on the quality of bean as it does on the passion of the barista making it. Only the most dedicated baristas, who strive for perfection in every cup, are employed at Kate Jones.
The fun-loving team serves breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week in a spacious, light-filled space. As Owner, Kate oversees a seasonal and exciting menu of traditional, experimental and fusion-style dishes.
If you stop by for breakfast, try the coconut and raspberry bread, or the signature sweetcorn fritters with crispy bacon, avocado and tomato salsa. If you want to really mix it up, try Kate’s specialty shakshuka breakfast tagine of roasted capsicum, tomato, caramelised onion, pumpkin, feta and poached eggs with Moroccan spices, dukkah and toasted Turkish bread. This exciting dish is full of flavour and spice – the perfect way to wake up in the morning.
Lunch options at Kate Jones are more than what you might expect – sandwiches, BLTs, salads, chicken schnitzel burgers feature but there are a few standouts too. Try the pan-roasted crispy skin salmon fillet with tomato salad, beetroot, feta and horseradish crème; or the scotch fillet steak sandwich with crispy bacon, rocket, garlic crème and onion jam, which will fill you up and keep you going through the afternoon.
If you’re lucky enough to have dinner at Kate Jones, prepare to be delighted. With entrees including cauliflower crème brûlée with Turkish croute; crispy duck with pearl couscous, caramelised pear, white truffle and honey sauce; and rabbit ravioli with porcini mushrooms, the dinner menu is where Kate’s talent and passion truly shine.
Main meals are just as mouth-watering and well executed. The crispy fried chicken served with polenta chips, bok choy and ranch sauce is a fresh twist on an American cult favourite, while the 119 seafood medley showcases some of the best seafood from around the region.
Dinner is not complete without dessert. The champagne pears with orange liqueur jelly cubes and almond-lace cookie are always a great choice, while the chocolate mousse cake with ice cream and hazelnut dirt will help you end your meal in style and decadence.
