Figbird Cafe & Deli is not just a cafe – it is a passionate culinary project offering an experience for all.
Whether you are looking to stock up on artisan produce, enjoy a solitary cup of coffee, or meet friends and family for high tea, Figbird truly does have something for everyone. The community-focused venue is the brainchild of Berry local, Lisa Clark. She pours her heart and soul into every aspect of Figbird to offer customers the best experience possible.
Figbird keeps an appreciation for high quality artisan foods at the forefront of everything it does. The deli offers a selection of smoked local meats, fine cheeses, handmade cakes, pre-prepared gluten-free meals, jams and more. Cheese is of particular importance – the amazing range offers both local cheeses as well as a selection from further along the South Coast, and international masterpieces from all corners of the world.
Much of the produce at the deli is used to create the delicious and healthy cuisine served at the cafe. Italian chef, Paolo Berandi, executes this fresh and seasonal menu of breakfast and lunch, seven days a week.
A delicious Italian and Mediterranean dinner menu is also available on Friday and Saturday nights. If you stop by Figbird for breakfast, start your morning with the organic almond, fig and pear muesli, served with fresh fruit and yoghurt.
Those with more of an appetite should look to the Figbird Signature Breakfast, which offers a hearty serving of free-range eggs, locally smoked bacon, sausage, beans and tomatoes. These delicious brekky options pair excellently with a freshly brewed cup of Tielka organic tea or Tiktaka Organica Fairtrade coffee.
Lunches are simple but delicious. A daily specials board advertises a selection of soups, salads, gourmet pies and more, while the standard menu offers paninis, wraps and sandwiches packed with a range of delicious fillings. If your stomach is really grumbling, opt for a good old-fashioned hamburger – the Figbird with the Lot. This jam-packed stack includes layers of beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, beetroot and caramelised onions and is served with a side of chips.
Dinner at Figbird is a slightly more formal affair. Start with an entree of caramel-crusted eye fillet, served with nature’s greens; or opt for the local scallops wrapped in prosciutto and infused with truffle oil. Move onto the mains, a selection that includes slow-roasted lamb shanks cooked in a red wine sauce and a delicate homemade gnocchi with a four-cheese sauce.
A decadent tiramisu or crème brûlée is the perfect way to finish this delicious experience. What’s more, Figbird’s BYO policy means you can enjoy that special bottle of wine with the delicious offering.
Figbird is open, warm and welcoming. Decorated in shades of white and furnished with timber accents, it creates an almost French provincial feel. A window bench offers the perfect spot to enjoy the breeze on a warm day, while a cosy fire burns throughout winter to keep guests comfortable all year round.
Figbird Cafe & Deli is a beautifully styled space offering delicious and hearty fare to locals and visitors alike. The healthy food, artisan produce and friendly staff at Figbird ensure that a visit will both excite the mind and delight the tastebuds.
