A deserted Ascot Vale car yard has transformed into something delicious.
What was once a vacant block on Mount Alexander Road has been reborn as The Ascot Lot, Melbourne’s newest food truck park.
Set to be the hottest weekend haunt for foodie families and friends, The Ascot Lot boasts a collection of food trucks that will make your mouth water at the mere mention of their names. Melbourne classics such as Two Fat Indians, Poke Time, Dip’d Gourmet Mini Donuts, Chef Calamari, Sliders of Tyres and everyone’s childhood favourite, Mr Whippy. Set in a bright, colourful yard, complete with pastel-painted picnic tables, timber stools and an indoor bar area with cosy brick booths, you’ll be in for an evening of feasting.
To top off a night at The Ascot Lot, we can confirm that Melbourne Martini espresso martinis will be available on tap for just $10. Sip on martini after martini while grooving to an array of new local talents, whether that new talent is a singer, guitar player or funky new band that The Ascot Lot team has had their eye on for a while.
If alcohol isn’t your poison of choice, brews by local roasters, Decali Coffee, will be served daily at the on-site coffee shop, along with a selection of freshly made jaffles. Pick up a latte and a turkey, camembert and cranberry toastie for an easy $10 and you’re set.
The perfect destination for a fun family outing or a foodie’s dream date, The Ascot Lot isn’t just a spot to grab a quick bite – it’s a weekend expedition well worth the adventure. Arriving just in time to welcome the warm nights, this is another destination worthy of summer.
