Escape the concrete jungle of the city and the hustle and bustle of your hectic office environment at Pilates on Bourke. The state of the art Pilates, yoga and barre studio creates a warm, calm and fun environment where you can work towards your health and wellbeing goals.
The studio was named as an extension to co-owner Brett Webster’s existing studio, Pilates on Collins – a boutique Pilates studio in the CBD. Striving to provide clients with the same high-quality teaching in the Docklands area, Brett and co-owner, Sarah Tarnawasky, are committed to helping you be your best.
The studio is a refreshingly spacious contrast to your confined office space. The interior reflects the industrial setting with pops of colour for energy and notes of nature throughout. The change rooms are made from recycled doors, hang light from tree branches and climbing green plants are sprawled throughout the studio. Beautiful patterned floor tiles provide a warm and inviting feel as soon as clients step inside the space, while blue, grey and yellow adorn the walls, offering a re-energising and energetic feel. There’s also a timber and plywood feature throughout the studio that connects you with nature.
Pilates on Bourke is bridging the gap between rehabilitation and fitness by providing challenging and dynamic workouts tailored to the needs of the individual. The timetable has a host of semi-private Pilates, group reformer, barre and yoga classes that will leave the individual feeling stronger, invigorated, happy and ready to launch into their day.
Semi-private Pilates classes are delivered in a small group environment, with a maximum of four participants to an instructor. Expect to use a wide range of specialised equipment, including Reformer, Trapeze, Wunda Chair, Pedi Pole and Ladder Barrel, all designed to both assist and challenge the body.
The group Pilates Reformer class is a high performance session suitable for all fitness levels. It aims to work your entire body to achieve a balanced, elongated and strengthened frame.
There’s also a selection of barre and yoga classes on offer, including Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha Beginner, Power Flow, Hatha General and Core. Each type of class integrates rhythmic breathing with flowing postures for a relaxing but rejuvenating release. The barre fusion classes combine ballet, Pilates and body weight training, targeting the core and upper and lower body muscle groups to tone muscle, improve flexibility and balance and align posture.
The studio also offers osteopathy, myotherapy and massage for those looking to release restricted muscles and get some help for headaches and migraines.
Rest assured that you’re in good hands at Pilates on Bourke. With an expert team of instructors and diverse range of classes, there’s an exercise experience for everyone. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, invigorated and rejuvenated – just as you should be!
