After a stint as a quintessentially Melbourne pop-up Christy Tania is back, and for good. Thanks to her trendy, new Windsor venue, the sweet toothed folk of Melbourne will be crying out in delight.
Known to be one of the country’s top dessert connoisseur’s Christy has a CV that boasts not only some of Australia’s best sweet venues but also some of the greatest in the world, The Ritz Hotel Paris and Guy Savoy Singapore to mention a few! Famous for her role as the inaugural Head Chef at the Adelphi’s dessert-themed restaurant, Om Nom, Christy became a hatted chef within two months of opening the venue, however Glacé is her very first solo adventure.
Taking centre stage at the Peel Street store will be Christy’s famous ice creams and sorbets. These can be enjoyed immediately in a little cup or waffle cone or can alternatively be saved for later, thanks to Glacé’s takeaway tubs. On the ice cream menu will be the classics alongside some more decadent flavours such as boozy sticky date (sticky date pudding soaked in run with vanilla ice cream and salted butterscotch), ginger spice (vanilla ice cream with salted butterscotch and gingerbread crumble), and Coffee Caramel (caramel milk chocolate ice cream with Kahlua and orange cinnamon crumble).
However, for those who are eager to branch out from Glacé’s ice cream selection, Christy has also created a collection of artisanal frozen desserts. Ranging from ice cream éclairs and ice cream macarons to Christy’s famous ice cream push pops, which combine sponge cake layered with ice cream, there is truly something for every occasion! Alongside this plethora of sweet treats will be Melbourne’s own Proud Mary coffee, being brewed from 7:30am.
Creating some stiff competition for the city’s ice cream big guns, Glacé looks like it is set to be Melbourne’s most indulgent dessert location in no time. Treating yourself or a loved one is surely a no-brainer when the likes of Christy Tania is at the helm of a place like this!
