The menu consists of predominantly sweet, but to shake things up, it also has a few savoury options. Freshly baked treats are, of course, a staple, like the house-made brioche stuffed with vanilla custard and chocolate. Fruity options like the Apple Tonka Gateau incorporates crunchy caramelised apples with the sweet flaky pastry of gateau. Alternatively, opt for something a little more decadent, like the Black Forest Gateau consisting of 73% dark chocolate mousse. Slide your spoon right down the middle through the soft mousse to reveal the centre of sour cherry jelly, setting off the rich chocolate, topped with whipped vanilla ganache.
If you can’t decide on just one (and with options like this – who can?), opt for the dessert degustation. With a little bite of everything, you can have your cake and eat it too, literally, so there’s no chance of food envy.
Savoury options span the likes of delicious toasted sandwiches with four new fillings. Served on fresh rustic white bread, opt for the roast chicken with avocado, triple vintage cheddar, baby spinach, mayonnaise and cracked pepper, or the Cuban with pulled pork, sliced dill pickle, Swiss cheese, ham and Dijon mustard.
Koko Black’s Hot Chocolate range has not escaped the luxurious lounge menu either. Their signature Belgian Hot Chocolate – in Classic, Mocha, Chilli, Cinnamon, Orange or Hazelnut flavours – now features inclusions such as vanilla bean marshmallow, rocky road and Tasmanian leatherwood honeycomb.
