Hop into Melbourne’s newest watering hole, HOPSCOTCH, to experience an urban beer bar like no other. With over 30 beers on tap and waterfront seating overlooking the city, HOPSCOTCH is less inner-city bar and more dream backyard.  

The laid back, friendly space is all about the beverages; beer and banter is plentiful. If one of the crafty and classic beers available on tap doesn’t appeal, customers can explore the range of beers, both local and independent, on offer in the fridge – there are 20 more beer flavours hidden in bottles behind the counter.

If cocktails are more your thing, the guys and gals are HOPSCOTCH can hook you up with a DIY Kocktail Kit, allowing you to play bartender for a night. Alternatively, a spiked slushie or one of the cocktails on tap is also a satisfying treat.

You can also cool down and class it up with a cocktail from the impressive list. HOPSCOTCH’s signature concoction, the Bearded Sailor, is a mixture of Havana, pale ale, lemon, bitters and maple syrup with a lemon twist, striking a perfect balance between beer and cocktail.

More adventurous cocktails on offer include the sultry Get Hoppin’ – vodka, salted caramel, Frangelico, coffee and honeycomb, and the unique Smokin’ Bacon, a mix of vodka, laphroaig, maple syrup, lemon and, of course, candied bacon.

With a drink in one hand, sample some of the delicious street food on offer with your other. Head Chef, Adam Baughan, has created a menu of worldly flavours that pack a punch and make for perfect snacking. Try the beer-can chicken, cooked low and slow and served with mac and cheese, slaw, fried brussels sprouts and chicken gravy; or the Bearded Beef Lover Brewer Board – a plate of cured and smoked meats, pickles, dark ale mustard, bread and butter for the perfect nibble.

If you’re not feeling too hungry, snack on some Vegemite roasted beer nuts and seeds, or grab a plate of snap and crackle pork scratchings with nori salt; or the must-try cheeseburger spring rolls with awesome sauce.

Weekends see the addition of a mouth-watering breakfast menu featuring childhood favourites like fruit loops and milk; and what’s sure to become a classic – lemon meringue waffles with lemon curd, burnt fluff, pie crust crumb and lemon powder.

With a custom microbrewery set to arrive on-site in January – one boutique beer will be featured every month – with a fit-out by local urban artist RESIO.
