Shrugging off its oh so serious past, the State Bank building has been transformed into Fargo & Co., Richmond’s newest cocktail bar.
Behind the Edwardian façade of this circa 1907 building, is a cocktail list worthy of taking out a loan out from the former bank. Tongue in cheek phrases such as ‘High Interest’ and ‘The Joint Account’ will be escaping the lips of those who approach the teller, however in return you find yourself receiving Fargo & Co.’s signature cocktails complete with all the flourishes.
Drown your monetary sorrows in style with the ‘Loomis Fargo’ – Hakushu 12-year-old whiskey, Laphroaig, lemon, ginger liquor, honey and smoke, or opt to ‘Invest in Shares’ with one of their sharing cocktails, such as the ‘Notorious G&T’, made with Tanqueray Gin, lime, gin, tonic foam and Campari dust. There’s no need to be afraid of asking for a ‘High Interest’ cocktail with its enticing blend of sake, white chocolate liqueur, salted caramel and maraschino.
For those eager to spend an evening at Fargo & Co. treating themselves to an interest-free bar tab, the food menu is sure to catch your eye. With a menu filled to the brim with hand-held bites, your non-drinking hand will be easily occupied by a mini oyster mushroom, fromage fraiche and roasted onion tostada or the perfect alcohol absorber, a Cod and chip fritter.
The fun does not stop at evening drinks. Spend your Sunday wisely with a lazy brunch, thanks to Fargo & Co.’s bottomless brunch. Every Sunday, from 11am up until 2pm, Fargo & Co Chef Dylan Evans will be treating guests to his special brunch menu accompanied by bottomless mimosas and Prosecco.
Fargo & Co. is a Swan Street go-to for all eager to settle a few debts and drink away their worries (financial or other).
