The Cliveden Bar and Dining
192 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne VIC
Nothing says ‘good morning’ as much as the full buffet breakfast. In saying that, nothing says ‘this is the best day ever’ like the option to eat buffet style every meal of the day. The Cliveden Bar and Dining, a Melbourne institution overlooking Yarra Park, has truly upped the buffet game, launching five new dining options that will change the way you eat at this charming hotel restaurant.
The Cliveden first opened its doors in the 1970s and has since maintained its old-school sophistication and flair in the heart of Melbourne. As part of the Pullman Hotel, visitors and guests at the hotel can meander their way down to this dining institution and walk out feeling satisfied every time.
Executive Chef, John Ross, has put together five new buffet menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch with grand proportions that create a versatile dining opportunity. In the morning, expect classic continental breakfast with pancakes and pastries galore. Expect to see a live egg station for weekend brunch that will beckon you to flip this breakfast staple any way you want it. Perhaps try an omelette complete with fresh honey-baked ham from the pop-up carvery just a step away on Saturday. Sunday looks like seafood decadence with a grazing table of fresh prawns, smoked salmon, mussels, crab, and an array of ocean delicacies ready for you to devour.
Load up your plate in the evenings with European and Mediterranean inspired fare. From Spanish style chicken pie to moussaka, classic beef stroganoff and a side of crunchy polenta chips with blue cheese sauce, you’ll be well and truly catered for when it comes to scoring a nice hearty meal.
All this eating can be thirsty work, and thankfully The Cliveden’s Bar is just a hop, skip and jump away. Decked out in a moody, theatrical décor, sit up at the expansive bar and order a cocktail like a Bloody Aussie Negroni that features all Australian spirits like Floor Pillars Shiraz Gin, Maidenhill Vermouth and Red Okar Amaro.
Work your way through The Cliveden’s extensive wine list that showcases some of Europe and Australia’s finest drops. If you’re hankering for a brew, there are plenty of beers and ciders both on tap and in the bottle on rotation, as well as top shelf spirits.
With a menu this versatile and a space this luxurious, there’s bound to be a little something for everyone.
