The Andronis family has owned and operated restaurants for many years. Food has always been an integral part of their lives, and they are passionate about creating beautiful spaces where family, friends and workmates can meet and bond over delicious meals. Their latest venture, located in Brisbane’s trendy Fortitude Valley, has sharing right at its heart.
Head Chef Timmy Kemp’s vibrant menu features dishes inspired by the street food of South East Asia and other exotic destinations. Its informal, friendly vibe encourages customers to share, explore and try new things; think mini banh xeo filled with sticky pork or Timmy’s signature duck pancakes.
With plenty of choices for the kids and a relaxed vibe, Chow House is ideal for family meals too. Using free-range eggs and Barambah organic dairy products, Chow House’s breakfast specialties include a Thai chicken omelette with celery, tomato, green shallots, steamed rice and chilli soy dip; Chow House coconut crumpets with passionfruit curd; and a burrito of braised beef, a free-range poached egg, tomato salsa, avocado and sour cream in a soft flour tortilla. For the less adventurous there’s always the traditional breakfast menu, featuring old favourites such as bacon and eggs, savoury mince and a classic eggs benedict.
Come dinnertime, Chow House is ready to tempt you. Try the taro crusted silken tofu, which is served with an Asian herb and pickled vegetable salad, roasted peanuts and sweet chilli peanut and coconut sauce. Or perhaps you’d prefer the honey-soy pork rib with apple, chilli, mint and peanut. Vegetarians will love the kale, pumpkin and organic labne salad, with roast kipfler potato, haloumi, green ginger and lemon oil.
Those with a sweet tooth aren’t left wanting, either. For the chocoholic, there’s the Belgian chocolate crème brulee. Or try out something different, perhaps the Pandan Sago with coconut sorbet, or the coconut banana and young rice fritter with sticky molasses and salty peanut ice cream.
To ensure a complete dining experience, Chow House presents a drinks list that perfectly compliments its street-style food offerings. With red and white wine from all over the world, a great selection of beers and an inventive cocktail list, you’re set for the night.
Chow House is available for business meetings large or small. Whether it’s a quick bite with a client in the restaurant, or a large-scale catered company function, Chow House is ready to create a food and beverage package to suit your needs and budget.
There’s nothing pretentious about Chow House. Its street-style menu offerings are complemented by the open, street-fronted venue that lets the breeze waft straight in. Timmy uses seasonal, local produce, updating the menu regularly.
Open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, and Tuesday to Saturday for dinner, Chow House will transport you to the street food markets of South East Asia with a local Queensland flavour.
