An alleyway historically housing rubbish bins is hardly the place you’d expect to find one of Adelaide’s most exciting bars. Against the odds, Pink Moon Saloon thrives in what was once a dirty and dilapidated laneway, serving mouth watering bar bites and refreshing cocktails to the masses.
The clever use of space was established in 2015 by the same team as brought Clever Little Tailor to life in Adelaide. Owners Marshall King, Joshua Baker, Crispian Fielke, Dana Whyte and Matthew Standen wanted to create a new laid-back bar that would do a lot with a little.
Simplicity is key at Pink Moon Saloon, but don’t be mistaken for thinking things are done by half – the venue is one of Australia’s most talked about bars for a reason.
Chef and part owner Matthew Standen oversees a simple, yet delicious menu of wood fired delights. He has gained particular recognition for an epic club sandwich filled with every topping imaginable. This next level sandwich is perfectly paired with a bowl of Matthew’s equally famous hand cut chips, which can be loaded with smoked brisket, onion, bacon and mozzarella for more ambitious diners.
The drinks selection consists of beer, wine and cocktails with five beer taps offering ice-cold brews every evening until late. The cocktails are a combination of classics and innovative twists – think pina coladas, frozen strawberry margaritas and a Pink Moon Clover Club – a mix of raspberry, gin, lemon and egg white.
Grab a drink and a bite to eat and soak up the atmosphere at the award-winning space. Designed by Matiya Marovich of Sans-Arc Studios, Pink Moon Saloon consists of two timber cabins separated by a small outdoor courtyard.
While drinks are ordered and enjoyed at the front of the venue, the courtyard is reserved for diners wishing to nibble on snacks from the kitchen.
Adelaide’s Pink Moon Saloon is one of Australia’s most talked about bars for a reason. Winning a number of design and hospitality awards, it is the relaxed feel and excellent quality that keeps Adelaidians coming back again and again.
